Freshies is Alofaina Leaga, a Brisbane local with more than five years on the tools. Here is how he runs it and why.
Freshies started the way good detailing businesses do: one person, a set of tools and a standard he was not willing to drop. More than five years on, Alofa still works every car that comes through.
The person who answers your enquiry is the person who looks at your paint, quotes it, details it and hands it back.
Taking on juniors is how a detailing business grows, and it is also how the standard starts to move from one job to the next.
Alofa decided early that he would rather do every car properly than more cars at someone else's pace. There is no version of a Freshies job that depends on who was rostered on.
Most people would rather not lose a day dropping a car off, so the full professional setup travels across Brisbane.
For the customers and the jobs that suit a fixed location, there is a mini studio in Mango Hill. Both get the same work.

How Alofa Works
Four things that decide how every job runs, whether it is a maintenance wash or a correction and coating.
Not when the clock says so. If a panel needs another pass it gets one, and that is built into the quote rather than rushed at the end.
If your paint does not need heavy correction, Alofa tells you. Selling work a car does not need is how you lose a customer for good.
A work ute gets the same care as a Maserati. With one person doing the work there is only ever one standard to hold.
Grit lifted before anything touches the paint and clean media throughout, because shortcuts in the wash are where swirls come from.
