Ceramic coating is a liquid applied protective layer that bonds to properly prepared paint and cures into a hard, slick, water repellent surface. How It Actually Works

The coating goes on as a thin liquid after the paint has been cleaned, decontaminated and prepared. It spreads across the surface, is levelled by hand as it flashes off, then cures into a bonded film. It is not sitting loosely on top like a wax that washes away, it is chemically attached to what is underneath.

Once cured, the surface has much lower surface energy than bare clear coat. Water pulls into tight beads and rolls off instead of sheeting flat, and dirt has far less to key into. That is the mechanism behind almost every practical benefit people notice.

Why Preparation Is Most Of The Job

A coating bonds to whatever surface exists on the day it goes on. Oils, old wax, bonded contamination and polishing residue all interfere with that bond, and any defect left in the paint is sealed in underneath a clear layer.
